ECOSAN Toilets
The ECOSAN (Ecological Sanitation) twin-pit toilet model, a cost-effective and innovative sanitation solution, was replicated at the College Park Campus (CPC) of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). This eco-friendly system promotes sustainable waste management by enabling the safe recycling of human waste into organic manure, which can be utilized for kitchen gardens and agricultural purposes, while also supporting water conservation. The replication was undertaken with the objective of demonstrating ECOSAN as a best practice in sustainable sanitation to participants attending training programs at CPC-ASCI, including representatives from various states across India and several countries.
ECO 365 Water Conservation Nozzles
The water conservation nozzle “ECO 365,” an innovation developed by a Bengaluru-based company, is designed to significantly reduce water wastage while maintaining effective rinse efficiency and overall user experience. This device, when fitted to standard water taps, can help conserve up to 90% of water. As part of a pilot initiative, CIPS facilitated the installation of ECO 365 nozzles at the College Park Campus (CPC) of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to assess its effectiveness. Subsequently, upon the request of the GST Commissionerate, Hyderabad, ECO 365 water conservation nozzles were also installed at the Commissionerate’s office to promote water conservation within government facilities.
