
National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Government of India, awarded a project to CIPS to implement the programme titled “Entrepreneurship Development of Scheduled Caste (SC) Communities in the Fisheries Sector of Telangana State.” The project aimed at empowering Scheduled Caste communities by building entrepreneurial capabilities within the fisheries sector.
The training programme, designed jointly by NFDB and CIPS, was structured as an intensive 15-day module focusing on skill development, enterprise creation, and sector-specific knowledge. To ensure effective delivery of the training modules, strategic collaboration was established with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).
Two reputed KVKs were identified for programme implementation:
· Sri Aurobindo Institute of Rural Development – Krishi Vigyan Kendra (ICAR), Gaddipalli, Suryapet District
· Prakasam Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jammikunta, Karimnagar District
Under this initiative, 300 candidates were successfully trained across 10 batches, each undergoing comprehensive hands-on and classroom training over a period of 15 days.
The programme received an enthusiastic response from participants, reflecting its relevance and effectiveness.
