TARGET GROUP: CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE

OBJECTIVES

·        To analyse the current CDW management practices in the PRC and identifies the main obstacles to improvement.

SUMMARY

The Government of the People’s Republic of China (the PRC) has requested policy and advisory technical assistance (TA) from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to enhance the PRC’s policies and practices related to the management and recycling of construction and demolition waste (CDW). The impact of the TA will be improved CDW management policies and practices in the PRC, and the outcome will be an agreed set of policy recommendations to regulate CDW management and promote CDW recycling. This report analyses the current CDW management practices in the PRC and identifies the main obstacles to improvement. It also includes a number of case studies which reflect current best-practice CDW management within the PRC.
