OBJECTIVES

·        To prevent, mitigate and respond to neglect, exploitation and violence affecting children within the framework of the law and a coherent regulatory framework of policies, procedures and guidelines.

SUMMARY

Child protection interventions are a critical part of a multi-sectoral approach to preventing child marriage and responding to the needs of girls and boys who marry as children. This brief focuses on the importance of investing in child protection systems to address child marriage at scale. It identifies emerging areas of good practice, most of which are delivered by civil society organisations working at the community level.
