CIPS team has participated and monitored the ToT programme for the selected trainers from Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam at Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Visakhapatnam.

A field level meeting/survey was conducted at ITDA, Utnoor, Adilabad.

The Director (I/C) went to Raichur, Karnataka on project work to meet a woman progressive farmer.

Outcome: Accordingly following activities were convened by CIPS:

The team has also visited Luxettipeta Village and interacted with the Grama Sabha members to customize the training module for the implementation of PESA Act in Telangana.

Outcome: It was requested by Dr. Siddharth Rao, Dy. Medical Superintendent, NIMS to present a live demonstration to Dr. N. Satyanarayana, Medical Superintendent, NIMS on Eco365 Water saving nozzles. Response awaited to finalize the date for conducting the live demonstration.
Dr. K. Venkateswara Rao who has been appointed as an Advisor/Knowledge Partner to CIPS for a period of six months to propagate the replication activity of the Vision Centre project, has undertaken a field visit to the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology (LAICO), Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

The Director (I/c) has made a visit to the Ameenpur Lake, the first biodiversity heritage site of Telangana.

Outcome: On a request made by Ms. Tejdeep Kaur Menon, IPS, Director General of Police, (Telangana SPF), the Director (i/c), CIPS gave a draft for notifying additional areas Bandam Kommu Cheruvu and Kotha Cheruvu to be added to extant BHS. It was done to spread the networking and reflect the technical capability of CIPS-ASCI amongst other departments

Outcome: Offered CIPS services to conduct a workshop on implementation of PESA act. In this connection, a proposal has been submitted.
Installation of water conservation nozzles in the CPC, ASCI.

Outcome: Saving (5000) liters of water ever day after installing Eco365 Nozzles.
This best practice has direct implication on water conservation and an indirect financial implication of about Rs. 15,000/- per month.
Attended flagship course on Health Systems Strengthening & Sustainable Financing held at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.

Visit to Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), Gujarat.

Outcome: Enter into an MoU with the Centre for Good Governance, SPIPA to strengthen the collaborative activities in terms of documentation of innovations, conduct of training programmes. Document project, “System of Application of Technology for Human Resource Improvement (SATHI)” implemented by the General Administration Dept., Govt. of Gujarat. Share the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) implemented by the Dept. of Education (Higher & Technical), Govt. of Gujarat with the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Dept. of all the States to explore the possibility of replication.
Visit to National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC).

Outcome: On request of CIPS, Mr. Shahim, Sr. Scientist, NATPAC has shared the details pertaining to the usage of waste plastic in road construction.

Outcome: Collaborate with Dr. J.B Rajan, Associate Professor, KILA towards promoting and replicating the KILA Project.
Visit to Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education.

Outcome: Update the detailed process documentation with inputs from KITE.The Vice Chairman & Executive Director expressed willingness to collaborate with CIPS in replicating the KITE project and agreed to assign impact assessment study on Little KITES Project.
Visit to Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu to meet project champion, ECOSAN for seeking updates on effective replication in public systems.

Outcome: Interns were exclusively hired to work on the replication of this best practice. A comprehensive concept note with infographs was prepared and the same has been shared with other states and project champions. The Tribal Welfare Dept., Govt. of A.P showed interest to replicate this best practice on a pilot basis in the schools run by the TWD.
Visit to Madurai, Tamil Nadu and met project staff to seek updates on effective replication in public systems.

The Dept. of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Govt. of A.P requested CIPS to come up with a comprehensive project proposal to discussed on a convenient date.
Visit to Assam Administrative Staff College (AASC) to meet the Director (Training) and other officers.

Outcome: Put forward a proposal regarding the training of the tribal students from AP and Telangana at AASC in collaboration with the Bamboo Technology Park, Assam. A proposal has been submitted to prepare a vision statement for the Innovation Lab which is to be established at AASC.
Visit to Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA).

Outcome: An MoU has been signed with HIPA.Propose regional level workshops to replicate the identified best practices in collaboration with HIPA. Conduct field study to understand the implementation of PESA act in Kinnaur district, H.P.
Meeting with Ms. Mary Elliott, SAO, ASCI to seek permission in fixing Tap Adaptors/Water Meters in CIPS premises.

Outcome: Briefed about the product technicalities and its relevance in water conservation.A formal letter from the Director (I/C), CIPS has been handed over to SAO, ASCI.
Meeting with the National ST Commission and the District Collectors of East Godavari, West Godavari and the Director, Tribal Welfare Dept., Govt. of A.P.

Outcome: Discussion on the rehabilitation & re-settlement of the tribals affected by the Polavaram project and their rights according to the provisions of Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement (Amendment) Act 2013. Visit to the dam site and the sub-merging villages along with the National ST Commission & assessing the impact of the project on their livelihoods.
Field trial of the training module for Grama Sabhas

Outcome: The training module for the Grama Sabhas prepared by CIPS was put to a field trial in (2) tribal villages of ITDA, R.C Varam.
Visit to LVPEI to meet the representatives of the LVPEI on “Replication of Visions Centres”.

Outcome: CIPS would submit proposals to the other States requesting them to conduct exposure visits to study the LVPEI model. A letter was sent requesting to arrange a field visit to one of the Village Vision Complexes in Telangana and study the functioning of the same.
Visit to Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration (SKIPA), Ranchi to meet the representatives of IPMU.

Outcome: Discussion was held to find out the modalities of renewing the sanction order of IPMU. A letter in this connection has been sent to the DG (I/C), SKIPA. Dr. K. Venkateshwar Rao, has been appointed as an advisor to CIPS to take this project to a logical conclusion. He has already taken up a visit to Arvind Eye Care System, Madurai.
Visit to the Jharkhand Innovation Lab (JIL), Ranchi – a collaborative initiative between the Dept. IT & e-Governance, Jharkhand and Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A).

Outcome: Series of discussions were held with the officials of JIL to explore the possibility of entering into a formal agreement with the Dept. of IT & e-Governance, JIL and IIM-A.

Outcome: A brief presentation was made by the CIPS team on their genesis, mandate and functioning. The replications efforts of CIPS in terms of establishment of vision centres and tribal welfare initiatives were further explained. A detailed proposal on “Career Guidance and Counselling Programme” prepared by CIPS, has also been handed over to him.
Visit to the Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Tribal Welfare Research Institute, Govt. of Jharkhand.

Outcome: CIPS would explore the possibility of facilitating a visit for the officers of the Tribal Welfare Dept., GoAP to the State of Jharkhand to study the functioning of Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Tribal Welfare Research Institute.

On receipt of an invite from NITI Aayog, the Director (I/C) had attended a National Workshop on ‘Municipal Finance and Effective and Accelerated Implementation of Smart Cities Mission.

Outcome: Director (I/C) and Prof. Chary, ASCI discussed about having a joint collaboration to impart training and conduct field visits for various personnel involved in smart cities mission popularizing best practices. This proposal was in principle agreed verbally by the officials of both NITI Aayog & Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Govt. of India. Shortly, the Director (I/C) will have discussions with Prof Chary to move forward with a joint proposal.
Pre-launch visit to guide the ITDA towards ‘Establishing Career Guidance and Counselling Centres for the ST students of Tribal Welfare Educational Institutions, ITDA Seethampeta, Srikakulam.
